After the gloom wind rain and grey cloud over the last few weeks it was a pleasure to be able to cycle in good weather again. In the light of this clime ten keen cyclists gathered at the Pier 'rarin ' to go . Stan B ,Howard H, David L, Norman D , Lance A , Richard L , Malcolm B ,Mike L, Bill K and Jonathan all ready to go .
For once route discussion was quick and in the light of the slight wind Whitfield was selected so that shelter would be available around the route .
Off we went through Deal and up Mill Hill and then out through Ringwould ,East Langdon and Guston . All went well with short 'rests while some members caught up having found that the intricacies of lycra cycling shorts lengthened the time taken to irrigate the crops.
The back road from Guston to Whitfield was busy with traffic - tractors cars and Motorhomes resulting in a rather spread out arrival at Whitfield . Refreshments were eagerly taken but surprisingly few cakes were consumed however the conversation was lively and varied with relatively little being said about the Referendum .
On departure we went our separate ways a Walmer Deal party, a Sandwich Worth party including Stan who decided he would relocate to Sandwich and Norman on his own route . An uneventful ride for the Sandwich Walmer party until near Eastry where two very large tractors decided to 'take no prisoners' resulting in a very quick turn into the ditch to avoid being squashed.
