Despite a slightly ' iffy ' weather forecast 7 stalwarts met at the Pier 'rarin to go '. Having carefully considered the wind strength and direction it was decided that Minster should be our target ,with Stonelees as a diversion should the weather deteriorate. So Jonathan helmeted, David L ,Mike L , Bill K , Richard L , Norman D , and Howard H prepared to depart when non rider Stan appeared by car to check on us . He was unable to ride due to a Hospital appointment but couldn't resist a quick 'check'.

Off across the Ancient Highway and soon at Sandwich Quay where a short discussion on matters archaeological and ensued . Away across the Toll Bridge where David L and his bike parted company leaving David on the pavement having banged his head fortunately helmeted on the parapet . After a check and dusting off David resumed the saddle . An uneventful run found us taking refreshment in Minster . Discussion managed on this occasion to avoid the R------m .
Refreshed the party split up with David , Bill and Norman opting to return via Sandwich whilst the others headed for Plucks Gutter .

Shortly after Monckton the heavens opened and four wet cyclists headed on to wards Preston where Jonathan opted for his own route home and Mike L, Richard L , and Howard H continued on through Elmstone ,West Marsh and onto Sandwich .
A good testing ride of about 30+ miles for the Plucks Gutter riders and slightly less for the direct returnees. (HH)
